OUR STORY
6th Generation Family-Owned Ranch
Irvine Ranch is deeply rooted in Kansas heritage and family ranching tradition. Our family’s ancestors were among the first settlers in the Manhattan, Kansas area, arriving in 1855. A log cabin was built in the Blue Township in Pottawatomie County in 1856. While the log cabin has disappeared, through seven generations of endeavor, the farming and ranching interests have blossomed into multi-generational operation.

The present cowherd of Irvine Ranch traces its roots back nearly a century. In 1927, George Irvine, Paul’s father, purchased 25 Hereford cows at the stockyards in Kansas City. The cows were shipped by rail to Manhattan. With that group of cows serving as a foundation, we have progressed through decades of disciplined breeding to today’s seedstock herd of Simmental and Angus.

Today, with tools and technologies our ancestors could never have imagined — from artificial insemination and embryo transfer to EPDs, genomics, and feed efficiency technology — we have the ability to advance beef cattle like never before. Most importantly, these innovations allow us to deliver meaningful progress to our customers and friends, helping them improve and sustain their operations for the long term.
